John F. Kennedy High School has three AFJROTC instructors, all selected and certified by the Air Force and hired by the school district to provide instruction. The Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI) is a retired Air Force Officer and the Aerospace Science Instructors (ASI) are retired Senior Noncommissioned Officers (NCO).
SMSgt. Rosario, Victor P. (Ret.)
Victor P Rosario retired from the United States Air force with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He entered the military on May 27, 1987, as a Medical Service Specialist and retired from active duty on 1 June 2013 after 26 years of service, as the Superintendent of the Medical Operations Squadron. In his current capacity, he teaches Aerospace Science to first, second year cadets and Leadership to first, second and third year.
MSgt. Mafnas, Joseph A. (Ret.)
Joseph Mafnas retired from the United Air Force with a rank of Master Sergeant. He has been teaching in the AFJROTC program since September 2000 as an Aerospace Science Instructor (ASI). Master Sergeant Mafnas currently teaches Aerospace Science to first, second year cadets and Leadership to first, second, and third year. Before being a teacher at JFKHS's AFJROTC, he taught as an instructor for the Airman Leadership school.
